County Commissioner Doug Corcoran was born and raised in Ross County, Ohio. He is one of 16 children born to the late John and Doris Corcoran. Doug is a 1989 graduate of Southeastern High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Specialized Studies degree with a concentration in Business and Communications from Ohio University in 1995.
Doug was first appointed to his position as Commissioner in 2005 to fill the unexpired term of Theresa Knott. He has since been elected to three full terms on the Board. During his tenure he has served on several outside boards and commissions including: Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission, Ohio Valley Resource, Conservation and Development Council, Family and Children First Council, Southern Ohio Diversification Initiative, and the County Commissioners Association of Ohio, where he served as President during 2016.
Doug and his wife Teresa were married in 1998 and are the proud parents of two wonderful children, Kyelle and Gabe.
Ross County Commissioner Steve Neal is currently serving his second term as commissioner being first elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. He previously served 26 years as Ross County Auditor and holds the distinction of being the longest serving county auditor in Ross County’s history.
Neal earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ohio University where he was recognized as the top student in the College of Business. He earned his Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) designation from the Association of Government Accountants while serving as county auditor. Neal’s office also received numerous awards for financial reporting excellence.
Neal serves on many boards and commissions including the Ross County Community Improvement Corporation, the Downtown Development Commission, the Economic Development Alliance of Southern Ohio, Ross County Community Action and the Good Samaritan Network of Ross County. Neal was recognized as a Distinguished Alum of Ohio University, Chillicothe Campus, in 2010 and of Bishop Flaget School in 2016. He is also an active member of St. Peter’s Church.
A life-long resident of Ross County, Steve Neal and his wife, Beth, have been married 38 years and live in Chillicothe. They have 3 adult children, Steve, Jr. (wife Helen) Melissa and Mark. They currently are the proud grandparents of 3 grandchildren, Lilliana, Camden and Carson.
Ross County Commissioner Dwight Garrett began his first term as commissioner January 2, 2017. He previously served as an educator for 36 years, 20 of which was in administration. Garrett has also worked as an Area Coordinator for the Ohio Department of Education in the Office of School Finance.
Garrett graduated from Adena High School, earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Ohio University. He earned his Master's Degree in Education from Ashland University. Garrett received his principals and superintendent licensure from Ashland University.
Garrett serves on the Adena Mansion Board. A life-long resident of Ross County, Dwight Garrett and his wife, Carla, have been married for 22 years and live in Chillicothe. They have 4 adult children, Erin (husband Bryce Chaney} Jacob (wife Amanda} Rachael, and Joshua. They are the proud grandparents of 3 grandchildren, Elijah, Kit and Cali.
